Still playing with the idea of changing Asuka's look when she wakes up in the comic.

Personally, I just can't see her wanting to look or be the same ever again. She might for example decide that the pigtails are juvenile and lose them. Or dislike wearing her A-10s in public. So many different ways I can go with this, we'll just have to wait and see.

For now though, here's a new hair look.

Earlier comments aside, this is really awesome work! This piece sees Asuka really starting to come into her own in a way that I like. Echoing previous comments, she really did kind of look like an overgrown, bigger version of her canonical self. Here she looks mature, confident, and gorgeous. She looks like someone, no longer possessed of the naive notions of childhood, aware that the night is dark and full of terrors, but also beautiful and full of wonderful things... someone of whom could truly be said, "When I was a child, I spoke as child, I thought as a child, I understood as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things." Er, except she's still most definitely 100% woman. You know what I mean. ;)

I think I like this look for her. Not knowing what else you have in mind, I couldn't compare it, but this definitely is a good look for her.

Yeah, the pigtails are important to keeping Asuka recognizeable to fans, but after 8 chapters, I think I'm ready to evolve her a little more.
